The Bitter End Yacht Club,
a venerable sailing institution with its unique history, stands out as an romantic resort as well, a favorite of honeymooners "eloping" to paradise. "The shower is open to these fabulous views," waves the hostess, high over the sea in a rustic villa, "and the showering bride can be seen from the bedroom," explaining the proper honeymoon protocol.

The Bitter End sits on magnificent North Sound, a boater's dreamworld, seldom fully explored, somewhat intimidating (see a picture of its reef-filled entrance), yet so full of history from the "days of sail"--the "Bitter End" adjoining the Anegada Passage, last "rest stop" before crossing the Atlantic--and such a place for adventure, both on water and land.
